Dara Institute

Instituto Dara (formerly Saúde Criança Renascer) is a civil society organization that works to promote health and human development through the implementation and dissemination of an integrated approach to fighting against poverty.

Pioneer in the world in intersectoral work with social determinants of health, it was founded by Dr. Vera Cordeiro, in 1991, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Family Action Plan is the social technology created by Instituto Dara.

It consists on a participatory creation of goals and integrated actions in the areas of health, housing, income, citizenship and education, in a way that each family becomes the protagonist of its own development, gets access to its rights and improves quality of life and health conditions.
