Julia Alvarenga, psychologist at Dara and post-doctoral researcher at Fiocruz that works with children and adolescents, gender issues and public policies.

At the event, a diversified group of people was present. The event was an opportunity for clarification, reflections, a history of the issue and created a forum for exchanges on the intersection of gender issues and child and adolescent care.

There urgency in addressing these issues is paramount. The invisibility of trans childhoods and trans adolescences, the absence of in public policies, the increase in violence against trans children and adolescents, the reproductions of gender violence in  institutions for children and adolescents, creates an imperative to strengthen care networks, promote training of professionals and  elaboration of  policies that are  more sensitive to gender diversity in childhood and adolescence.
